POTOMAC HUNT POTOMAC HUNT POTOMAC HUNT

The Potomac Hunt Club is one of Maryland‘s most widely recognized fox hunts. It has been in operation since 1931. During the season we hunt an award-winning pack of Foxhounds twice a week at various locations throughout upper Montgomery County. It is important to note that although we are called a Hunt Club, we do not kill the fox we hunt. It is really foxchasing. We take care to conserve our land, our ground, and all of nature’s beauty and creatures. We hunt through the generosity of various landowners who give us permission to cross their land. For these generous land owners, we are eternally grateful. We express our appreciation to these landowners by honoring them with a big party every fall.

We have many other social events that throughout the year: parties, clinics, riding schools, shows, hunter paces, hound walks, and the always popular Potomac Hunt Races. https://potomachuntraces.com

We also show our dedication to the land and the community by hosting informational seminars on indigenous plants, field care, and other ground conservation efforts. For the community, we host fundraisers for nonprofits, including TAPS, WAMCO, and other local organizations. We also take part in local parades, and host the public at various events including horse shows, trail rides, birdwatching and happy hours throughout the year.

Keep an eye on this website for our summer trailriding schedule. It’s open for any equestrian that wants to join us. It’s great camaraderie and a chance to ride on land you might not ordinarily get to see. Usually a fun potluck tailgate follows. And don’t forget our spectacular horse shows and hunter-paces...they can’t be missed! We will keep you updated here on our website.
